BRENHAM NURSING AND REHABILITATION CENTER
My mother was at this facility for short term skill rehab. A week later she had to be admitted to the hospital due to neglect of wound care, stomach problems. Which no one seemed to know anything about...so they say...but I specifically asked them about the care of it and was told by numerous aide that it was being cared for. Being a caregiver myself, I decided to check and what I saw was disgusting...skin tissue was tore. Called for the nurse to look at it and she couldn't believe her eyes so she had to borrow skin cream from my mother roommate to apply on wound. Then she checked my mom stomach called the doctor and was told to send her to ER.

I just wasn't really impressed with the structure of the building and it wasn't updated. I did walk her to dinning area, which was small and clean. I wasn't really impressed because the area was old and you can see how old the building was. After all, I think it's alright place to live if you don't mind it not being very new.

No communication between staff on patients care when shift change. Aides arguing with each other in front of patients/visitors, there was no one at receptionist desk to let you in..when she did come she is on personal phone. Went talked with the Administrator about my complaint for the 2nd time. My mother will not be going back there when she get discharged from the hospital.
